OUR TAX RESERVATION PROCESS

Tax season doesn’t have to be stressful. At Journey Advisors & CPAs, we utilize a Tax Reservation System to make the process clear, organized, and predictable for you.

What is a Tax Reservation System?
A Tax Reservation System assigns or allows you to book a specific date by which your tax documents must be submitted. Once all your documents are in, we guarantee a 3-week turnaround for preparing and filing your return.

Why do we use “reservations”?
Traditional tax season often leads to last-minute rushes, unclear timelines, and unnecessary stress. Our reservation system eliminates that by giving you a defined schedule and helping our team work in a more focused, efficient way.

This system is a win-win: you enjoy peace of mind, and we deliver exceptional service without the chaos of crunch time.

CLARITY EVERY STEP OF THE WAY

Step 1: Sign your engagement letter to work with Journey.

You’ll receive your engagement letter via Ignition, our billing software. After signing, you’ll see a “Next Steps” page with a link to our scheduling page. This link will also appear in your confirmation email from Journey Advisors & CPAs.

Step 2: Select your tax reservation date(s)

You will sign-up for a tax reservation for each return (personal and business) via our Microsoft Bookings page. You will choose a Saturday reservation date from our available list.

Step 3: Complete your personalized Tax Organizer.

After booking, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email with next steps. The first step is completing the Tax Organizer in your secure tax portal (link provided in the email). This organizer helps you identify required documents and ensures we capture all possible credits and deductions.

Step 4: Submit all required tax documents by your reservation date.

Using your Tax Organizer and prior-year returns as a guide, upload all documents and information needed to complete your tax return. If unsure about a document, upload it anyway—better safe than sorry.

Step 5: Respond promptly to follow-up questions.

We may reach out for clarification or additional details. Our goal is to prepare and file your return within 3 weeks (21 days) of your reservation date, but timely responses are essential to meet this deadline.

Step 6: Review and sign your tax return.

We’ll upload your prepared return to your secure portal for review and e-signature. If you have questions, we encourage you to reach out to the team.

Step 7: Journey files your return.

Once signed, we’ll file your return(s) with the IRS and send you an email confirmation.

Step 8: Process payment.

We’ll charge the card on file immediately after submitting your return to the IRS. If your return is extended, we will charge the card on file immediately after filing the extension.

Reservation Dates for 2026

Tax reservation dates will be offered on Saturdays from February through August 2026. While you’ll select a specific time (e.g., 10:00 AM ET), only the date matters. These are not actually meetings; rather, they are deadlines for uploading your documentation.

Submit your documents by your chosen date (early submissions are welcome!). Your return will be prepared within 3 weeks of that date. Refer to the Bookings links for availability or reach out to our team to discuss availability. Pre-deadline dates (prior to March 15/April 15) will most likely fill by early January 2026.
